Cousin Time!

Bob and Daniela brought their family to visit us for a few days at the beginning of June.  We kept really busy while they were here.  He took a hike up to Mary Jane Falls.

We even found snow!

This hike is always longer than we remember... but we finally made it to the falls!

That evening we went to The Habit.  The kids thought they were pretty cool sitting at the big table without parents.

One day we headed down to the strip to see the sights.

We walked in the hot, hot Vegas summer sun to the Coca-Cola store for some refreshment.

The kids were so tired and hot that Bob and Rich ran back to our cars so they could pick us up while we enjoyed M&M World.

Another day we headed to Floyd Lamb park where there was a watermelon festival happening!

It was so nice to have cousins in town--even if it was just a little bit.  We miss seeing them and are so glad that they came out this summer!

YM summer camp (and what the rest of us did)

The summer started off great for William and James!  They were able to attend Young Men camps--which we joked were more like a vacation.

William took off first.  Monday morning he headed with the Priests and Teachers for a week at Lake Powell.

He had a great time but said that a week at the lake became a little repetitive.

James and Rich were off next.  They left Wednesday morning with the Deacons for a few days in Utah.

They started with a hike to Kanarraville Falls.

Thursday they spent all day at Temple Square.

Friday they spent the day at Lagoon.  They stopped at Cove Fort on their way back home on Saturday.

While they were off having fun in Utah the rest of us had some fun too!

We made some freezer jam.

Hung out with friends at the Springs Preserve.

Alex had some coupons for BJ's (from reading so much this year!) so we went to dinner one night.

We spent some time at a few parks.

And we made sure to get some free donuts for National Donut Day!

It was a really fun week for everyone!

The beginning of Summer!

On Memorial Day we headed over to the high school to play tennis.

We had a delicious patriotic fruit pizza for dessert.

We decided to take advantage of the nicer weather and ride to GVG for donuts.

Our apricots started to ripen!  We all love them!

William got his braces off early and got to bang the gong at the orthodontist.

The boys had fun playing with the Mathewson's.

Alex, Henry and Lydia worked hard putting together a lemonade stand.  William and James helped with a little of the prep work.

Lydia loved standing on the corner and drumming up business.

So many people came to support the kids and they sold out!  It was such a pleasant morning!

There was a mistake made at the orthodontist when they were making William's retainer so they gave us both U-Swirl gift cards.  It was fun to go grab a treat together.

It has been a great start to our summer break!
