3 months!
I can't believe that Henry turned 3 months old yesterday! He continues to be a sweet, smiley baby. He's a good, quick eater and a great sleeper! He only wakes up once a night and it's usually not until around 5 am. Henry has started cooing too--he just loves to sit and visit. We sure love this little boy!

You don't think this little boy
Could be related to this little girl, do you?
Last Sunday afternoon we were all upstairs watching Veggie Tales while Rich took a nap. Alexander wandered downstairs and was really quiet. I thought he was just playing nicely by himself since he does that quite often... but in the back of my head I kept thinking I should go check on him. I even heard the fridge open and close but didn't think too much of it. I figured that Alex had found Rich and asked him to get some milk. Eventually Alex headed upstairs with a bowl of Cheetos--a big 'no no'--so I headed downstairs with the bowl. That's when I found it. On the floor lay an egg carton with broken eggs.
Luckily there were only 2 eggs left and he didn't find the other full carton in the fridge! Here's the funny thing--I've been told that I did the same thing when I was 2 years old. I guess it's just payback!

(I believe that is an entire bottle of baby powder all over yours truly)

Forget-me-not
Last night I had the opportunity to watch the General Relief society meeting with several ladies from our ward. We met before the broadcast to visit and snack and then had a wonderful time watching the broadcast together. Was there anyone who didn't love President Uchtdorf's talk? I loved his message. If you didn't hear it you can go here to listen to a few highlights or here for the whole thing. (Or if you'd like to read it find it here.)It really was wonderful. Last night as I listened I thought I should make a reminder for myself to put near the desk or on my mirror or taped to the fridge.
Hopefully this can serve as a reminder to me to "forget not" these five important things. I am excited to hear more uplifting messages next weekend during General Conference!

Scenes from my birthday
Did you know I turned 30 last week? Yep, the big 3-0. It was pretty uneventful... unless you consider that it was one of those terrible-horrible-no-good-very-bad-days. If it was any other day it would have been just a bad day. But considering that it was my birthday--and my 30th at that--it made a bad day worse. I try to not have big expectations for my birthdays... my boys don't care one way or another. But when I was greeted in the morning by a whining, screaming 6-year-old throwing a fit on the stairs for 20 minutes my day didn't exactly start off on the right foot. To be honest, the day didn't get much better from there! There was an excess of screaming and whining.
I think Alex took about 5 baths... just because he kept whining about them.
These boys brought their toys downstairs for a bit and played nicely. But it was downstairs because the air upstairs went out--again. Perfect.
And James played on my ipod a bit. Just to keep him occupied and from annoying Alex.
Henry was my best boy... he's always so good.
Rich is on the library board and had a meeting that night... so I got to make dinner too. (Although it was a pretty good dinner: swiss mushroom burgers, fruit, potato salad, and corn on the cob.) And Rich brought home some peach pie for dessert.
There were some good parts too... I talked to my family and was showered with nice gifts. And the week got better from there.
I've been needing a haircut for a while and finally did that.
It's so nice to have it short again... and I'm getting used to the bangs after over 10 years of not having them!
On Thursday we got a sitter and Rich took me to dinner. There is a little steak place within walking distance of our house and so we took a nice walk over there. It was a great evening.
And on Saturday Rich surprised me with some beautiful roses.
30 is looking better every day.

Founder's Day
Every September, usually the weekend before my birthday, we celebrate Founder's Day. There is a 5K (which I am determined that I will run one day), parade (with lots of candy), and fun activities at the center of town.
This year we ran into some friends at the parade and the boys had a blast. The people in the parade always throw out a ton of candy. William was a maniac! He was getting as much candy as he possibly could and kept yelling, "free candy! free candy!"
After the parade, we walked up to the baptist church for some free snow cones and to participate in the book walk (think: cake walk) sponsored by the library.
It was a fun way to spend our Saturday morning!

Little dancer
James came downstairs today and showed me a little dance. He can't remember where he learned it... He said that William taught him. William denies it. Wherever he learned it I'm glad he did because it totally made my day! Introducing: James doing the Macarena.
