Christmas

We had a delicious Christmas Eve feast and afterwards acted out the Nativity story.  The boys came up with some pretty interesting costumes this year.

If you can't tell, Henry couldn't decide what he wanted to be... a sheep (in tigers clothing?) or a wise man.  Alex is a shepherd (with an awesome staff... so then Henry wanted to be a shepherd as well).  William is the angel.  (Nice halo.)  And James is a wiseman.

This is the first Christmas that the boys have been awake before 7:00.  Rich and I had been up late with the usual Christmas Day preparation (plus a cinnamon roll fiasco which kept us up even later) so we were mean and told them to watch a show while we slept a little longer.  Alex and James were sneaky little guys and peaked at the gifts before everyone was up.  I think James even said that he slept downstairs on the couch around 5am?!

Santa was good to all of us this year.  Henry got a super cool bike/scooter.

William got snap circuits.  He has had lots of fun building different things with them.  They are pretty awesome!

James got his very own keyboard.  He loves to play the piano but he and William are always fighting over who gets to practice.  Sometimes I wish Santa had bought a simpler model because all the extra music this thing plays is giving me a headache!

And Alex got a scooter that is just his size.  He loves it (and so do his brothers!)

Rich always picks the best gifts for the boys.  When they opened up these new comics everyone stopped what they were doing to gather around and look at them.

This was the best gift of the day.  Rich created a bunch of letters out of Legos and put them in a box. The boys had to unscramble them to figure out what the gift was.

When the puzzle was solved they discovered that we were headed on a trip to:

Legoland!!  The boys were thrilled.

We had a pretty low-key day after that.  We enjoyed our gifts, talking to family, watching movies, and playing games.
