Choo! Choo! Choo!
What's coming down the track?
Choo! Choo! Choo!
It's something big and black.
See it steaming as it chugs along.
Hear it ringing as it says, "Ding, Dong."
Choo! Choo! Choo!
There is goes again
Choo! Choo! Choo! Choo! Choo! Choo! Choo!
It's a big black train!
Who Whooooo, Who Whooooo
It's a big black train!
Recently my dad has taken up collecting trains. We had fun playing with some of them in July while we were visiting my parents home--watching them go around the track on the balcony or racing them down the long hallway. At the time he told me that he had collected some for his grandchildren. In the last week or so we received four very large boxes FULL of trains. Some of them we'll save for when the boys are older--as they are a little more delicate--but for now, we set up a small track around the Christmas tree. The boys love it! William is very good to not make the train go too fast and always makes sure that the cars stay connected.
Thanks so much Dad!!!

Woah, that's a fancy train set! We've never had one with more than one speed. What a fun thing for your boys to have!
ReplyDeleteEvery boy needs a train. We got one for Ben last year and are adding cars and track every year.
ReplyDeleteNow, the more nerdy question: is that a G scale train?
Ron, I have no idea what a g scale train even means... but I'm sure my dad does. I'll have to ask him.
ReplyDeleteThat is a fancy train. Looks like fun!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun Christmas toy. We love ours too. Jeff told Olivia to tell it to go faster/slower/stop/go and then he would do the controls without her knowing. She thought she was controlling it with her words. It was pretty funny, and pretty confusing when it didn't work like that when Jeff wasn't there.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun Grandpa! I'm with Ron -trains are a must for little boys! And how perfect for Christmastime!
ReplyDeleteHey have you checked the give-away today blog yet?! You won the mp3 watch! You have til tomorrow morning to claim so make sure you get it! Lucky girl :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat train set! Hannah is So into trains. She would love that. How nice of your Dad.
ReplyDeleteHow cute! This reminds me of my granddad, who had hundreds of trains and a huge setup in his basement. Trains around the Christmas tree are the best.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! My dad has an old train set that looks almost exactly like that. He's been working on refurbishing it and is giving it to Derek on Christmas. I can't wait to see his face!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! My boys would be in heaven to have a train around the tree!
ReplyDeleteHow cute! Tavin is obsessed with trains right now! He would love it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great grandpa- that looks like SUCH a fun toy for him. We are afraid to put anything under the tree, even presents, because we know that Jake will get into them- and Josh probably will too. But maybe a train would distract them. How cute!
ReplyDeleteHow do you know that song? Do you have that same yellow book of funny songs with Jumbo Elephant? I am always singing them and Nick thinks I am crazy and the only one alive that knows them.
ReplyDeleteNat... YES! I have that yellow songbook. I grew up on those songs. A few years ago my parents bought a copy for each of us! William loves the songs too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat gift! And how neat that it is something grandpa has too! Very Cool!!
ReplyDeletehow fun! We will definitely have a train around our tree someday.
ReplyDeleteyou guys were in my dream last night btw...don't remember details, but you were definitely there :)
