How we spend our afternoons

Most afternoons... but especially Mondays are spent like this:

A snacky lunch (since these boys don't eat much else) and a movie--while I catch up on the computer (or some sleep).  It's the perfect way to spend the afternoon.

Conference Time

Conference weekend was wonderful as always.  The boys were looking forward to it for weeks!  I'm so glad that it's something they love already.  It's always fun to come up with activities to keep the boys interested and occupied so we can all listen and feel the spirit of the words spoken.

This year I made a little doodle book for the boys to draw and take notes.  It seemed to work pretty well.

Alex occupied himself by making a post-it "beard."

Of course, Henry needed his picture taken several times.

We are so glad for the words of living prophets and the spirit of the whole weekend while we get to listen to them all.

We are looking forward to reviewing the messages over the next few months until next conference!

Birthdays!

We had a great time celebrating James' birthday.  He chose to bring monster cookies to his class to share and we packaged them up all nice and cute.

He also decided that he wanted a donut tower instead of a cake (like Alex has had for the past few years).  He had a very specific list of what kinds of donuts should be included!

I'm pretty sure he loved each and every one of his gifts.
(money is always a favorite)

(Lego Movie lego set... you can see that his brothers were excited as well!)

(a new basketball of his very own!  James has been obsessed with basketball lately)

(a new fun game)

(you can't see in the picture... but this is a basketball hoop!)

And because you can't take pictures these days without Henry insisting that you need to take a picture of him.

That weekend we continued our celebration with a sports-themed party.

We played a little bit of basketball while we waited for guests to arrive.

James' one request was that we play pin the ball on the athlete.

We opened more gifts from generous friends.

Then we sang "Happy Birthday" and devoured another donut tower.

Rich set up an obstacle course for the boys which was pretty funny to watch.

And finally we played a little game of soccer.

That night Rich and I went out to celebrate his birthday.  We tried out a new, local place: Bob's Ranch House.  It was wonderful!  We loved it.  Sunday we continued our celebration with some chocolate mousse.

It's always a fun, busy birthday week for these birthday boys but we love it!

Pi Day

So I need to play a little bit of catch-up!  A month ago was Pi Day.  We normally skip this "holiday" because, well, I usually forget about it!  It always sneaks up on me because I'm so focused on the birthdays coming up a few days later.  But I remembered!

Rich and I were even able to throw together a pi themed night.  We had pizza pie for dinner, banana cream pie for dessert (so good), and then watched "The Life of Pi."

It was fun to do something out of the ordinary!
