Daily Sunshine

I can't remember why Lydia and I were talking about it but I remembered that I had some smocked dresses that my mom made for me.  Lydia and I went up into the attic to find them and I'm so glad that we did!

Lydia also discovered this pink rabbit that was given to me when Rachelle was born (so it is 30 years old!) She loves it and says it's her favorite toy.

We also recreated the pose of me wearing this same dress.

July 2020

July was a fun month!

On the 4th of July, William put on a fireworks show for us because Rich was in bed, sick.  (We later found out it was Coronavirus--but no one else in the house got sick).

Henry always keeps us laughing.

We took our annual bike ride down to GVG.  Lydia rode her bike so I didn't have anyone to pull in my trailer!

We experimented in the kitchen... we made hand pies with our backyard apples.  They were delicious!

And James learned how to make pretzels bites!

The kids decided they wanted to earn extra video game time and cash so they started scrubbing my grout every day.  Win-win!

Lots of fun playing with water.

We made homemade rootbeer.

My entire family was able to hop on and chat with Jacob!

The Old Mormon Fort had a Pioneer Day celebration so we took a little visit.

We even discovered a relative who was one of the first missionaries to come down to Las Vegas!

Did kept busy with activities... like tie dye,

and rock candy,

and lego masters.

Daily Sunshine

Lydia dressed up in her Cinderella dress and decided she needed a prince to dance with (she's been watching the movie lately).  Since James was the closest brother available she told him, "James, dance with me!"  She thought it was so much fun!  She is a lucky girl!

Daily Sunshine

Lydia loves to make this funny little face.  So after I took her picture doing it she insisted that I make the face too and she grabbed my phone to take a picture.  This little girl is my cute little buddy every day!

Daily Sunshine

I just love working with the youth at church!  It is always amazing to see the turnout on a busy Wednesday night when we bring the youth from our ward to the temple!

Daily Sunshine

Lydia and I rarely match so when I realized we were matching for church we had to document it!

I love to see the temple

William has been waiting since November to go to the the temple.  Nearly 3 months after he turned 12 we were able to take him to do baptisms.  It was a great afternoon!  I'm so glad that he has the desire to go to such a sacred place.  I know he felt the spirit and will want to return again soon.

Daily Sunshine

Henry is such a creative boy.  I thought that writing his name with these blocks was pretty clever!

And I loved this portrait of Lydia that he drew during a game of telestrations.

Rose Garden Fairy

I went outside to take a picture of all our roses to show my mom.  I didn't realize that Lydia had followed me out with her fairy wings on!  It just seemed perfect to have a little fairy in with my roses.

Moments of Sunshine

I love to capture little moments of sunshine in our daily life.  Like this moment of Lydia and Rich reading together.  (Lydia has recently started to love reading... she loves to plop down on the pillows of the reading nook with a book.)

And I loved that Alex asked me if we could go on a date.  He chose U-swirl and it was delicious!

Hardworking James

We had a little tree in our backyard planter that hung over into our neighbor's yard.  It had little tiny leaves that shed into their pool so they asked if we would cut it down.  One Saturday Rich got to working on it and James decided to help him out.

James is such a hard worker and is up for a good challenge.  Plus, he got to use a saw so what's not to love?

I love watching my boys work hard, learn something new, and feel good about their accomplishments.

Daily Sunshine

William loves to grab Lydia when she's sad and give her a ride on his shoulders.  She really likes it (most of the time!)

William takes such great care of his baby sister.  He watches her in the morning while I get ready and she's fussy, he puts up with her crying at night, and always tries to make sure she's happy and taken care of.  Lydia sure is lucky to have William as her big brother!

Daily Sunshine

One Sunday after church Rich decided to make cookies with Alex and Henry.  It was so much fun to watch them work together in the kitchen.  And even better to enjoy the fruits of their labors!

"Mom!  Does this look like a mask?"

Typical

During the school year we get up at 6:00 to read scriptures before Rich leaves for work.  I'd say this is a pretty typical scene.  But at least we are all there and (mostly) awake.

Captain Underface

Henry is the funniest kid.  The other night he came down telling us that he was Captain Underface.  I don't know what his super powers are supposed to be but maybe they are causing the enemy to die laughing at his antics!

Daily Sunshine

This morning Alex was listing off his favorite things.  "Legos, then squinkies, then football."  Then he paused and looked at me.  "Acutally," he continued, "You, then football, then Legos, then squinkies."

Daily Sunshine

I always know if Alex has been downstairs to eat breakfast because he likes to turn on the fireplace.  It makes the kitchen nice and cozy so I don't blame him!

One morning I came down to find the boys all eating breakfast right around the fire.  I just love these boys!  (Grandpa Fisher I think Henry's hook 'em horns are for you!)

Squinky Battles

Alex still loves playing with his squinkies.  I find battle scenes set up all over the house like these:

(Don't mind the dusty piano.)
