Homeschool Fun

We had so much homeschooling fun in May!  We took a few fieldtrips.  First to Gilcrease Orchard to pick fruit.

Next we took a field trip to tour an old mine.  It was really interesting and we had fun!

We also did a whole science week full of fun experiments!

I think Henry and Lydia really loved school this month!

Field Day

Henry and Lydia planned a super fun “field day” for us!

Their games included the gauntlet, pool noodle baseball, hula hoop, wheelbarrow race, water balloon fight, and sponge relay. It was a beautiful day and we all had a blast!

March 2021

Lydia started to write little love notes to everyone.  She is so sweet!

Henry, Lydia and I celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday.  Henry dressed as a Star-bellied Sneetch and Lydia as Cindy Lou Who.  They built a Seussville, ate Hop on Pop(corn), played with edible oobleck, searched for Whos in the backyard, created their own Seuss-like creatures, and read lots of fun books!

I love taking our school over to the park!

We cuddled up in my bed to read in the morning.

The kids won the prizes for the winter reading challenge at the library.  Alex won a movie ticket.  Henry and Lydia won tickets to the Children's museum.

We celebrated Pi Day with Black bottomed coconut banana cream pie.

We took another field trip--this time to the Springs Preserve.  We even got a free train ride which told the history of Nevada (it was our history lesson for the day).

The Stake Primary put on a super fun Mother-Son Carnival night!  (It was so funny to watch Henry walk around with soda cans in his back pockets).

After the Mother-Son night we came home to watch a movie and eat Cafe Rio with William and Lydia.  (Rich was on a campout with James and Alex).

William woke up early one Saturday morning to sit in line at the DMV with Kate while she got her permit.

Alex was the first one of the kids who got to go back to school in over a year.  James was so nice to ride his bike with him in the morning and show him the ropes.

And of course we got to celebrate Rich's birthday!  He's the best!

February 2021

The missionaries here in Las Vegas started an instagram account where they share stories and testimonies from people in the area.  One of William's friends was asked to participate and William was part of the photo shoot that they did.  I love these pictures!

(Rick Andersen, Grayson Tressler, William, and Eli Randall)

Lydia was so excited to receive a Valentine's gift in the mail from her primary teacher (Kacee Henriksen).

William had a special valentine this year (Kate) and I drove with him to drop off flowers at her house.

I randomly found James asleep in the closet one morning.  So weird.

Sometimes, on Wednesday's when they don't have class, William will go work on school stuff with friends.  Clearly it's not all work though... I found this picture of him playing with their dog.

Henry continued to make us delicious food from his chef box.  The whoopie pies were so good!

Henry, Lydia and I watched the Friend-to-Friend broadcast one Saturday.

We took a field trip to the Discovery Children's Museum and had a great time!

After the field trip we ate lunch at Cafe Rio.

We moved rooms around and put Lydia in her own room and the 3 boys together in the other room.  One thing I wanted was a place that they could build their legos and some shelves to display them.  I couldn't find what I wanted and I ended up making them a Lego table. It turned out really well!

In mid-February we were given permission to have primary again!  (It really messed with our church schedule though and we were from 3:30-5:30!)  Lydia gave a talk.
