Happy birthday, James!  You are such a good, fun, responsible kid!  We are so glad that you are in our family!  You have stepped into being the oldest at home with ease.  You never let anything get you down for too long--not even a broken collar bone!

Super 16

James!  You are 16 now!  It has been a fun and busy year.  You've learned to drive, played high school football, and done another season of track.  You are so much fun to talk to and tease.  Everyone loves to be with you!

 He had a pretty mellow birthday but he’s excited to get his license in another month.  He had a great birthday dinner (pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, fresh green beans and apple hand pies for dessert).  He ended up going out for frozen yogurt with some of the boys from his quorum.

Well, James, this is your first birthday that is "normal" in the last few years!  Yours was one of the first "pandemic birthdays" back in 2020 and after all the upheaval of the past 2 years we are beginning to see some normalcy.  Since your last birthday you have gone back to school in person, gone back to church in person, started high school, joined the track team, served in your quorum presidency, and just been an all around great kid!

 James had a pretty mellow birthday.  I love that James always chooses something different for his birthday cake.  This year it was lemon blueberry cake with lemon cream cheese frosting--it was delicious (and so pretty)!

We love you, James!  I can't wait to see what this next year has in store for you!

Well James, it has been a full year since the world turned upside down... and we are still not back to normal for your birthday.  It has been so nice seeing you become closer to your younger siblings and how much they look up to you.  You are so helpful, kind, and full of energy!

James's 13th birthday

James's 13th birthday hit during the first week of the stay-at-home orders.  We found this funny office meme (SO many funny memes during this pandemic) and decided to recreate it for James's birthday.

We went in the backyard and took some pictures.

James really is a good sport.  He was looking forward to the fun run at school on his birthday and seeing his friends.  Instead, he got to stay home and enjoy the great weather.

We had fun celebrating James! Everyone gave him thoughtful gifts.

He even had a few neighbors drop stuff off for him!

And cheesecake for dessert!

We are grateful that James is so good to go with the flow and enjoy his birthday during this crazy time in history.

Quaranteenager

 James is 13!  Another teenager in the house.  James is such a great, fun guy.  He is a good friend and great older brother (even if he likes to tease--a lot!)  He is always willing to help out and is generally easy to please.  This year will be one he'll always remember because we are all home-bound because of the coronavirus (aka covid-19).  School is out for a month, everything is shut down, and we aren't hanging out with friends.  Even still he is happy and having a good attitude.

January 2020

We started off the month by keeping with our tradition of using Grandma Fisher's Christmas money and spending time together at Gravady.  It's always so much fun... but I was so sore afterward!

Lydia spent some time watching a movie with her furry friends.

She lost her ballerina bunny a long time ago and has been asking for another one for so long.  She and I spent some time making a new bunny.  She picked out all the fabric and helped to put the stuffing in.

William was ordained to the office of a Priest this month!  We are so proud of him.

For our Come Follow Me lesson about Lehi's dream we acted it out!  (Rich did the same thing for his seminary lesson.)

Lydia was SO excited to match with Henry!  They are so cute!

Lydia got a little tea set in Mexico and has been hosting tea parties for her dolls and anyone who will join her.

Lydia also loves to paint... she's always trying to convince me to pull out the paints!

We spend lots of mornings at the park... sometimes Lydia grabs my phone and takes pictures.

The boys were given a VR headset and it is super funny to watch them play!

One of Rich's Christmas gifts to me was tickets to see The Piano Guys.  It was such a great show!  The next time they come we will have to get tickets for the whole family because everyone would have loved it!

We brought home a ton of lemons from Elise's house so we made some lemonade.  It was delicious!

For Come Follow Me we made some liahona's.

Lydia cuddled up with me one day while I was reading and fell asleep.  It's not often that she does this anymore and in a few more months she'll be at school all day.  Luckily I had a book and my phone nearby so I could stay put and enjoy it.

For family night William had the kids build a boat like Nephi!

One more day of a show with her animals.  This time she only took out the animals that "hadn't seen this show before."  She's too cute!
