In February Alex, Henry, and Lydia decided to try out some new sports! Henry and Alex started karate and Lydia is trying ballet. I found some classes at the community center on Saturday mornings. First a 30 ballet class for Lydia, then a 30 minute break, and afterward 1 1/2 hour karate class. The class description said that it was an hour... so it was quite a surprise when it kept going!
The first week Alex was sick so it was just Henry and Lydia. They both really liked their classes. Lydia did great playing quietly for so long during karate and Henry stuck it out through the whole class. Since that extra 30 minutes was unexpected I treated Henry and Lydia to some Dippin' Dots (I get a free cup every month this year.)
In between ballet and karate we usually head out to the car, listen to music or a story, and get a snack.
Everyone seems to enjoy their classes and they have learned a lot.
We had just signed up for another month of classes and then the Coronavirus hit the country... so classes were cancelled and refunded. Hopefully they'll want to join again when life is back to normal.
This was Henry's first and Alex's last year to be in the Heckethorn talent show. They got together with Tristan and Jayden Mathewson to decide on a skit to perform. They settled on "The Crayon Song" by Studio C. Then they gathered together some more friends to be in their skit. These boys worked hard and had so much fun performing together. They were the final act of the talent show!
We started off the month by keeping with our tradition of using Grandma Fisher's Christmas money and spending time together at Gravady. It's always so much fun... but I was so sore afterward!
Lydia spent some time watching a movie with her furry friends.
She lost her ballerina bunny a long time ago and has been asking for another one for so long. She and I spent some time making a new bunny. She picked out all the fabric and helped to put the stuffing in.
William was ordained to the office of a Priest this month! We are so proud of him.
For our Come Follow Me lesson about Lehi's dream we acted it out! (Rich did the same thing for his seminary lesson.)
Lydia was SO excited to match with Henry! They are so cute!
Lydia got a little tea set in Mexico and has been hosting tea parties for her dolls and anyone who will join her.
Lydia also loves to paint... she's always trying to convince me to pull out the paints!
We spend lots of mornings at the park... sometimes Lydia grabs my phone and takes pictures.
The boys were given a VR headset and it is super funny to watch them play!
One of Rich's Christmas gifts to me was tickets to see The Piano Guys. It was such a great show! The next time they come we will have to get tickets for the whole family because everyone would have loved it!
We brought home a ton of lemons from Elise's house so we made some lemonade. It was delicious!
For Come Follow Me we made some liahona's.
Lydia cuddled up with me one day while I was reading and fell asleep. It's not often that she does this anymore and in a few more months she'll be at school all day. Luckily I had a book and my phone nearby so I could stay put and enjoy it.
For family night William had the kids build a boat like Nephi!
One more day of a show with her animals. This time she only took out the animals that "hadn't seen this show before." She's too cute!
Lydia is such a sweet, funny girl. The last several months I have taken so many videos of her. I thought I would document all of them here.
Lydia blows kisses:
One day she kept going up to the wall at the end of the downstairs hallway and kissing it. I really have no idea why!
Most of the time Lydia is really quiet... but every once in a while she just jabbers on and on! It's really cute!
The boys love when they can get her to dance. She loves to move her body around when she hears music... she can't resist!
Every day when I pull my bike up at the park to wait for the boys Lydia points to the school and informs me that the "guys are at school".
William has been teaching Lydia all sorts of animal sounds this summer. But when I heard him ask her, "Lydia, what does a fox say?" I just had to laugh at her response!
All summer long Henry walked around the house with his arms outstretched like a zombie and murmured, "brains!" Lydia is a great copy-cat and loves to tell us what a zombie says.
Lydia certainly provides us with lots of entertainment!
Lydia and Henry are such great little buddies. Henry is always looking out for her... especially at the park where she wanders too far, too quickly.
I love watching Henry take care of his little sister or when he asks me where Lydia is because he wants to play with her. Lydia and I are going to miss Henry so much when he is at school all day next year!
Man, it's rough being in this neighborhood. Two dogs! I hope it's better in North Carolina!

Somehow everyone that comes out of mom's tummy, that's a boy, somehow loves Dad! 1-19-12
According to James...
James has enjoyed making his own lunch (of food he wants to eat) so much that he told me, "It would actually be a punishment for you to make my lunch!" 8-26-15
(expaining to a friend after hearing me tell Henry that I wanted to eat him up) Do you know what "I want to eat you up!" means? It means I love you SO much. 5-3-12
Look! A zookeeper! (This was at church, pointing to a boy in a boyscout uniform) 4-8-12
According to Alex...
"When you look at Lydia you can't take your eyes off her because she's so beautiful... Mom, you are pretty too." 6-24-2015
mom: Alex, how did you get so funny?" Alex: "I'm not funny." mom: "you're pretty funny." Alex: "no, I'm not funny. I'm hilarious." 1-22-15
About his kindergarten teacher: "She's nice but she likes to torture me with hand sanitizer." 1-22-15
The Life of Henry
Henry has started writing "Jeff" on all of his school papers. His teacher will even call him Jeff at school. He is so silly! 1-30-17
(after eating a peach from off our tree) The crust tastes like fur! 7-17-16 (apparently I've always peeled the skin off in the past!)
I gave Henry a piece of watermelon to taste and asked him how it was. He replied, "C'est Magnifique! That means it's great!" 5-23-16
Lovely Lydia
Henry was making a mess while brushing teeth one night. Lydia was standing there and exclaimed, "Oh my gosh! You're making a mess!"
Rich was finishing dinner one night before I got home from choir. Lydia saw him open the crockpot and told him, "You're going to be in trouble! You're going to cry." (October 2017)
