Preschool (January and February)

Another few months of preschool fun!

The kids had fun playing in the tent at Wyatt's.

They made octagon monsters.

Lydia loves school so much she literally skips home!

They even became pirates for a day!

For Valentine's Day we read Apple Cake: A Recipe for Love and then made our own apple cake!

We danced around with scarves and ribbons to music about love.

And played an alphabet matching game.

We practiced our cutting skills by cutting out a name puzzle.

For our second Valentine's Day preschool we decorated bags for valentines.

We played "Pin the kiss on the frog".

We worked on coffee filter magic hearts.

And we did conversation heart patterns.

These kids really get along so well together!

Making names out of play-doh is so much fun!

Q week was so much fun because the girls got to dress up like queens!

The field trips are always fun!  They were able to go to a fun little farm (the Huntsman's) and came home with farm fresh eggs!

Of course, Lydia needed to make some scrambled eggs that day for lunch!

SNOW!!

It's practically unheard of to wake up in Las Vegas with snow covering the ground.  However, that is what we awoke to today!

The kids were so bummed that school wasn't cancelled!  It's a lucky thing that school starts so late because it gave us plenty of time to play in the snow and build snowmen before we had to leave.

All the snow was melted before lunch time but it was fun while it lasted!  Henry and Alex said their teachers let them play out in the snow in the morning.  Now that all the snow is melted the school district called and cancelled school tomorrow for a "snow day".

Valentine's Day

I'll say it again-- I love Valentine's Day!

Melissa Belt and I made swig sugar cookies and delivered them to all of 18 of our Laurels.

I got to help out at Henry's class Valentine's Day party.

I had a special snack for the kids after school.

Lydia loved helping me set the table special for dinner.  Everyone had a big heart with their name on it.  We passed it around the table and wrote something nice about that person.

We had turkey meatball soup and homemade rolls.  Lydia dressed up like a princess all day long.  She loves Valentine's Day as much as me!

For dessert we had chocolate fondue with lots of yummy dippers.

Rich brought flowers home for me and Lydia.  Lydia was so excited!

It is really fun to have a little girl who is excited about the holiday as much as I am!  We can't wait for next year!

January 2019

We started the year off right by implementing the church's new home-centered, church-supported curriculum.

Each of the boys helped to illustrate a part of the parable of the sower.

The new year was exhausting!

Henry is getting to be an expert tree climber!

William spent an exceptionally long time building a water bottle tower in his room.

Henry attended our ward's "8 is Great" program!  I can't believe he'll be baptized this year!

Lydia has been really into "making soup" lately.  She always needs real veggies to add to her concoction.

We enjoyed Pastries with Parents once again this year.

Lydia and I had a little date at Cafe Rio during the day.  It's our favorite!

Lydia set up a great picnic for us to enjoy.

Henry and Alex enjoyed putting their state coins from Grandpa Fisher into their spots on the map.

Sometimes you just need to take some silly selfies

Lydia received this little hat from my mom while we were in California.  She loves it!  It was actually mine for a school project I did in 6th grade about my ancestors from England.

William managed to break the screen of his phone so he bought a new screen and I replaced it for him.

Pretty impressive, right?  I'm impressed with myself!

We had some beautiful weather so Lydia decided it was time for a little picnic outside.  She is too much fun.
