Preschool Happenings (March)

I'm always amazed at the fun and creative ideas that the moms in our preschool co-op come up with.

They learned about the solar system and made the cutest water color version.

We learned about trees.

It was fun because the trees in our backyard were all at different stages so I could show the kids how the trees change!

Then we made bark rubbings.

I took the kids to Floyd Lamb Park for a field trip.  They decorated bags beforehand so that they could collect things from nature.  The peacocks were really showing off that morning!

I also made binoculars so they could look for nature.

We found peahens as well.

When we got home we arranged their nature into a collage.

This month they also went to the aquarium on a field trip!

Apparently Lydia named this bird Elsa because it is blue.

They got to make an "underwater aquarium" snack later in the week.

Lydia really loves to walk to and from preschool!

Rich's Birthday!

I think that Rich had a pretty good birthday this year.  It was pretty mellow as usual but he got a new Garmin watch which he was pretty happy about.

Bob gave him a Wolverine jacket which he thought was pretty awesome!

We had cowboy sandwiches for dinner and chocolate cake with whipped cream.

Happy birthday, Rich!  You are our favorite!

James's birthday celebration

James is 12!

He loved all the gifts that he received!

For dinner James requested ribs, roasted potatoes and fruit salad.  For his birthday dessert he wanted homemade cheesecake.

James, our family would be dull without you in it!  Thanks for helping our family to be more awesome!

T W E L V E

James is such an awesome kid.  He has had so many new and exciting changes since his last birthday.  He finished elementary school and started middle school--which he loves.  He completed his Faith in God award and earned his Arrow of Light.  He also was a part of the new policy in which 11-year-old boys can be ordained to the priesthood.  So he was able to become a Deacon, pass the sacrament, and go to the temple before he turned 12!

We are so excited to see all that James is accomplishing and working towards.  He is a great, smart, hard working kid and we can't wait to see the changes that come this next year!

School Year Photos

Since we had free access to Floyd Lamb Park for the year I decided it would be a good location for a photo shoot.  I fell way behind on their school photos for the year--oops!

I really love all the peacocks that wander the grounds!

We got to see the baby bunnies too!  They were so sweet!

Enough with the wildlife though!  I wish I was better at the editing process but I feel like I got a few keepers.
