Preschool (April and May)

One week they learned about wheat and Christina Darrington helped them make some of her delicious wheat bread and homemade butter.

X is a hard letter to come up with ideas!  We read "Not a Box" and created our own not-a-box.  The kids had a blast using their imagination!

Lydia had a lot of fun playing school with her stuffed animals one afternoon.

These kids are just too cute!

Our second day of 'X' we went on a treasure hunt where x marked the spot.

We also made x-rays of our hands.

They tried lots of yellow foods and graphed what they liked and didn't like.

They went on a field trip to a kindergarten class!

It was a fun year of preschool and Lydia really loved it!

April 2019

At the end of March William's bike was stolen from school.  I spotted it the next week in the bike cage at Heckethorn.  Lydia and I staked it out waiting for the bike thief to appear.  They didn't show that day but I saw the bike again and the school police turned it over to me!  Hooray!

Lydia and I played with the filters on my phone and took some selfies.

We spent a beautiful day at the playground as a family.

The boys had a super fun field day... until they got rained out.

The neighborhood had a fun Easter Egg Hunt.

James and I had a little date to Panda.

We lit our little oil lamp as part of our Come Follow Me lesson.  We let it burn until it went out--which was almost all day!  Every single drop of oil counts to keep your lamp burning!

We had a fun time dying eggs.

I took James and Lydia to see my cousin Kayla perform her acrobatics.

The Easter Bunny stopped by our house!

Easter Sunday Selfie!

William taught us a great Come Follow Me lesson about forgiveness and letting go!

Henry kept plugging away at his Book of Mormon reading.

I took the boys to see Avengers: End Game.  It was a super long movie but we all enjoyed it!

Lydia was so happy to play out in the rain one afternoon.

The Grand Canyon

Since Alexander is a 4th grader this year he has a National Parks Pass.  We decided to take advantage of that and visit the Grand Canyon.  Sunday afternoon we drove the family down to Parks, AZ.  We stayed the night in a cozy little house in the woods.  After dinner we had a fun time playing in the woods.

Alex jumped into some mud and Rich was nice enough to thoroughly clean them out.  It was so cozy with the fire going.  We had our Come Follow Me lesson, played games, watched a little movie and rested up for our big day at the Grand Canyon.

We woke up early and drove the rest of the way to the Grand Canyon.  Right as we drove into the park we saw some Elk!

We decided to hike the South Rim.  The views were just amazing!

We packed in a lunch and enjoyed the scenery while we ate.

It was amazing to take it all in--it was just so vast!

We found this cool tree to climb along the trail.

And adorable tiny pinecones.

We had such a great day experiencing the the Grand Canyon together as a family.  We hope that we can make it back again someday!
